Chaos x Tranquility

Originally an experimental watercolor piece, this turned to an experiment with nonobjective art. It portrays a shifting sense of balance and movement from panel to panel. In some ways, the light watercolor drips paired with the charcoal crosshatching resembles a sort of abstract “forest.” It is tropical, natural, and peaceful; it is pure. The balance shifts, however, trading crisp lines for chaotic jumbles. The shift is not permanent but continuous, returning from a state of chaos to a simpler state. Despite the original intentions and meanings, this piece could be related to anything the audience chooses, from emotions to the economy.
